The immediate needs of a person who have recently been raped are somewhat different to those who have been raped in the past.  This is because those who have recently been assaulted are in a state of traumatic shock.  It is therefore very difficult to absorb the information required to make immediate decisions regarding legal options.  It is hoped that this written material will provide the information required to assist in the decision making process.

Options

·         Reporting the rape.

·         Having a medical examination even if you do not want to report to the police.

·         Not reporting, but getting support/counselling follow up.
